Free African drumming classes coming to Melton Central!

We are excited to let you know that our Council was one of five Victorian winners of the Heart Foundation’s Active Australia Innovation Challenge, attracting a $10,000 grant to run African drum classes for seniors! Melton residents will soon be moving to the beat of Africa thanks to this new program.

The African drums classes will be held at Melton Central Community Centre, where participants will learn djembe drum techniques and rhythm. The free program aims to promote fitness, co-ordination and fun, improve mental wellbeing and bring people together. The program is targeted at residents aged 45-70 years.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact these musical sessions will have on our community

The classes will begin in October and run until next August.
