The City of Melton Lifelong Learning Festival is returning this Thursday 19 November! The event program is not only full with live online events, it also features a series of brand new pre-recorded videos that you can enjoy at any time during the 4 day celebration.

Learn to make delicious summer salads with Brooke from The Organic Place or fill your lunchboxes with healthy and easy to make treats with Mrs J’s Kitchen. Learn about navigating the job and education market with Abe from Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services or create Zentangle and Glass Painting art with local art tutor Fadwa plus many more!

Disability Advisory Committee Expression of Interest

Melton City Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from community representatives interested in joining the Melton Disability Advisory Committee.

The Committee advises Council on issues relating to access and inclusion for people with disabilities living, working, studying or visiting the City of Melton.

Expressions of interest are open to:

  • people with a disability (2 positions)
  • carer of a child or of an adult with a disability (1 position each)
  • representatives from local community-based disability support group or agency (1 position)

Applications close Friday 20 November at 5pm.

Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services are delivering a free Introduction to Cleaning course over 5 weeks starting  Thursday 22 October.

This pre-accredited short course covers many facets of the cleaning industry including but not limited to:

  • Developing knowledge of what is required to work in the cleaning industry
  • Performing cleaning duties in domestic and commercial environments
  • Using chemicals safely and maintaining Occupational Health & Safety
  • Improving employable skills and high quality customer service

Caroline Springs Library hosting $15 summer Yoga sessions

Give your body, mind and spirit a great start to the new year.

Over January, Caroline Springs Library & Learning Hub will host a series of summer yoga classes, made possible by Hillside Community Centre. These Hatha inspired yoga classes are designed to align and calm your body, mind and spirit through exercise, breathing and meditation.

Delivered by an experienced and passionate yoga instructor, Alicia’s classes provide an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension while strengthening and promoting flexibility in the body. 

Suitable for men & women of any age and ability, this series of three classes are a great introduction to the new year before Alicia’s regular yoga classes begin for the year in February.
