Winter 2026 School Holiday Activities

Looking for something to keep your child occupied during the Winter school holidays? Several of Council’s community centres are buzzing with fun workshops sure to keep your child entertained and learning.

TUESDAY 30 JUNE

Scavenger Hunt Bike Ride

Join us for an exciting bike ride through the picturesque surrounds of Eynesbury whilst going on an adventurous scavenger hunt!

  • Cost: Free
  • Age Group: 10-14 years

WEDNESDAY 1 JULY

Indigenous Art Workshop for Kids

To celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC Week, Melton City Council are hosting a hands-on indigenous art workshop for kids.  

  • Location: Fraser Rise
  • Time: 10am – 11.45am
  • Cost: $5 per child
  • Age Group: 6 years +

THURSDAY 2 JULY

Youth Musical Theatre Workshop

If your child loves dancing and acting or struggles with shyness, Melton Performing Arts are delivering a free musical theatre workshop tailored to children aged 5-16 years!

  • Age Group: 5-16 years

DIY Car and Drive-In Cinema Experience

Cold weather? No worries! Join us in the warmth of Eynesbury Discovery Centre for a free creative and cosy movie experience these school holidays!

Build a Bird Feeder Workshop

Join our friends from Bunnings Warehouse these school holidays as they guide your child to create their very own bird feeder station!

NAIDOC Week Indigenous Experience

Celebrate NAIDOC Week these school holidays at our exciting Indigenous Experience by Didgeridoo Australia!

  • Age Group: 5-12 years

Boomerang Painting Workshop

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, Melton City Council are hosting a hands-on boomerang art workshop alongside an introduction to Australian Indigenous history.

  • Time: 10.30am – 11.30am
  • Cost: Free
  • Age Group: 6 years +

FRIDAY 10 JULY

Produce Bag Making Workshop

Join us these school holidays during Plastic Free July to create your own reusable produce bags to take home.

  • Time: 9am – 12pm (drop in any time)

  • Age Group: 7 years +
