April 2026 School Holiday Activities

Looking for something to keep your child occupied during the April school holidays? Several of Council’s community centres are buzzing with fun workshops sure to keep your child entertained and learning.

WEDNESDAY 8 APRIL

Harry Potter Inspired Science Workshop – SOLD OUT

Delve into the wonder of magic and unleash your inner wizard. Inspired by the story of Harry Potter, your child will learn to mix bubbling and colour-changing potions before using their magic wands to make things move and make powders magically dance.

 

  • Location: Fraser Rise Children’s & Community Centre
  • Time: 11am – 12pm
  • Cost: $5 per child
  • Age Group: 6-12 years

Space Jam Workshop for Kids – SOLD OUT

Explore the wonder and awe of our solar system. Through this workshop your child will compare planet sizes, experience the thrill of launching rockets, dock at the International Space Station, create expanding universe slime and witness a mind-blowing chemical reaction that simulates the expanding universe.

MONDAY 13 APRIL

Family Puppet Making Workshop

Get to know your neighbours at our family friendly puppet making workshop at Plumpton Community Centre! Facilitated by experienced puppeteers, the workshop will empower you and your child to get creative using clean, recycled materials to make a unique puppet, perfect for play or display. You’ll never look at everyday household rubbish the same!

THURSDAY 16 APRIL

Canvas Painting for Kids – SOLD OUT

Explore the art of canvas art in this interactive workshop! Guided by a professional artist with extensive teaching experience, your child will learn an assortment of techniques and use a variety of materials, focusing on acrylic techniques, colour mixing, exploring textures and composition.
