Reconciliation Survey 2023

Melton City Council is currently seeking feedback from all community members to help shape it’s Aboriginal reconciliation work. Reconciliation Australia tell us that reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-indigenous people, for the benefit of all Australians. Council knows this work is important and we are developing a new Reconciliation Strategy and Action Plan which will outline our commitments to reconciliation with Traditional Owners and local First Nations community.

Council wants to know what you see as important to advance local reconciliation work and invites you to complete a survey at Reconciliation Action Plan | Melton Conversations where you can share your thoughts on what we can do locally to progress our reconciliation journey. The survey is open throughout March 2023. The survey will help Council identify priorities and actions that will be included in its Reconciliation Strategy and Action Planning. Possible actions will demonstrate respect for First Nations rights, culture, history and community and commitment to the goal of progressing reconciliation between all Australians and First Nations people.

Completing the survey will put you in the running to win one of six $50 shopping vouchers which will be awarded at the end of March. Please share this information with your networks and get the conversations started about local reconciliation action.

If you would like to talk to someone about this work, please contact shanee@melton.vic.gov.au or via 9747 7200.
