This is a 9-week program starting 18 July running every Saturday from 11:30am.
Yin Yoga is a slow, soothing, and meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, joints and ligaments in the body.
If we don’t use our full range of joint flexibility, our connective tissue tightens and shortens. This affects our mobility and movement and leaves us with aches and stiffness. Yin Yoga helps us to access our deeper tissues to promote flexibility and release tension in our joints such as the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
During the class your yoga teacher, will guide you through slow, deep stretches while teaching you how to breathe through postures and sit with your thoughts.
This class is suitable for beginners and advanced alike and is the perfect addition to those that are currently practicing other styles of yoga to help round out your workouts.
In addition to bringing a yoga mat to this class, the following items have been recommended by your instructor to support your participation and comfort:
- a pair of yoga blocks
- a yoga strap
- if you have sensitive knees a knee mat, towel or blanket for extra support
- a cushion, pillow or bolster
