This is a 9-week program commencing 7 February running every Friday from 4pm. 

This class is designed for advanced teen sewing students only who have successfully completed all prerequisite tasks. Please contact the centre to confirm your eligibility before enrolling. 

Finding clothing pieces that fit your body perfectly and that reflect your own personal style can be difficult. In our Sewing for Teens program, participants will learn advanced sewing techniques to further your sewing ability to confidently create your own garments. 

There is a multitude of benefits of learning to sew including: 

• Creating unique looks just for you. 

• Practising hand eye co-ordination to keep our brains as nimble as our fingers! 

• Sewing can be quite therapeutic and a creative outlet, helping you feel calmer, happier and more content. 

• Meet new people and create new friendships with people who enjoy sewing too. 

• Reduce landfill by making clothes you enjoy wearing rather than buying clothes in today’s world of fast fashion. 

Sewing and then pattern making is a lifelong learning mission. Learning to sew does wonders for your self-esteem especially when you are wearing a piece you have made yourself, and a friend asks where you bought it from!  

Participants must be aged 14 and above to enrol in this program.
