Are you navigating the ups and downs of parenting a teenager? Join us for Communication with Teens, a six-part series designed to support parents and caregivers in strengthening their connection with their teens.

 

Delivered in a supportive and practical format, each session explores real-life challenges and offers strategies to build trust, foster emotional intelligence, and navigate sensitive conversations with confidence.

📅 23 May – Building Connection

  • Building trust and emotional safety
  • Active listening and non-verbal communication
  • Understanding emotional “bank accounts”

📅 30 May – Understanding Adolescence

  • Emotional and social development in teens
  • Risk-taking and identity formation
  • The teen brain and personality growth

📅 6 June – Talking About Safety

  • Values, ethics, and setting boundaries
  • Mental wellbeing and risk factors
  • Insights from local youth voices

📅 13 June – Managing Teen Drama

  • The Drama Triangle: victim, hero, villain roles
  • Conflict styles and emotional health
  • Tools for managing emotional triggers

📅 20 June – Tackling the Tough Topics

  • Talking about sex, drugs, and mental health
  • Conflict resolution and digital boundaries
  • Understanding social media’s role in teen life

📅 27 June – Reflection & Application

  • Parent reflections and shared experiences
  • Peer learning and strategy implementation
  • Resources for continued support

 

This series is ideal for parents, carers, and anyone supporting teens through the challenges of adolescence. Come along to one session or attend them all—each session builds toward a more confident, informed parenting approach.
